| What is Reiki? That's usually the first question that needs to be answered. "Rei" describes the universal, boundless aspect of energy. "Ki" is the life force energy that is in & around us. Together the two describe "Unity of Spirit Taking Breath". The practice of Reiki was lost for many centuries but Master Mikao Usui of Japan, a Buddhist monk, re-discovered this ancient healing method at the end of the nineteenth century. To become a Reiki channel, all one needs is the desire to learn and use it ethically. Reiki is holistic in effect: it reaches all levels of existence and strives to bring these differing levels into balance. Reiki makes its way to the area of the body in need of treatment. Very receptive people also experience Reiki as love; love is the original home of the soul. However, to practice Reiki, no special kind of faith, religion, or belief is required. The knowledge that an unseen energy flows through all living things and is connected directly to the quality of health has been part of the wisdom of many cultures since ancient times. The existence of this "life force energy" has been verified by recent scientific experiments, and medical doctors are considering the role it plays in the functioning of the immune system and the healing process. Reiki is a great technique for stress reduction and relaxation that allows everyone to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve health and enhance the quality of life. As energy passes through the body, it clears or breaks up blockages that can cause illness or dis-ease. Keeping these areas clear of energy blocks helps create a strong and resistant body. But Reiki doesn't just work at the physical level. It works on all levels, including emotional, mental and spiritual. The energy will go to where's it's needed most! Because Reiki treats the whole body, it creates many beneficial effects including relaxation and feelings of peace, security, and well-being. Many have reported miraculous results. Reiki is a simple, natural, and safe method of healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. Reiki is not taught in the usual sense but is transferred to the student by the Reiki Master Teacher. Although Reiki is spiritual, it is not a specific religion, therefore, does not have any dogma attached to it. Reiki Masters come from various religions and faith. |

A Reiki session lasts approximately 1 hour. As you lay on the massage table, I will gently place my hands on various points on your body. This is done while fully clothed and is not intrusive. You may feel a warm sensation, or heat, coming from my hands. Sometimes nothing is felt at all, however, any time I put my hands on you with the intent of Reiki, Reiki will flow to you. This is Universal Energy....this is not my own personal energy. |
